FAQs

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING MY FIRST COUNSELLING SESSION?

Starting counselling with a new therapist can be an intimidating process. Our first session together will be spent gathering information and getting to know each other. The focus of our first session is understanding the counselling process, reviewing consent and other paperwork, and learning about what you hope to get out of therapy.

WHAT CAN I TALK ABOUT IN THERAPY?

You are welcome to bring any topic into the therapy space. Although it may take time to feel comfortable bringing up new or sensitive issues, know that any topic on your mind is worthy of discussion.

ARE YOU ABLE TO SUBMIT A CLAIM TO MY INSURANCE FOR ME?

A receipt will be provided after each session for submission to insurance. We currently do not offer direct billing.

ARE YOU ABLE TO VERIFY IF YOUR SERVICES ARE COVERED UNDER MY BENEFITS PLAN?

We are unable to check coverage for individual’s extended benefits. To do this you will need to check with your provider.

WHO CAN ACCESS SERVICES AT WILD COAST COUNSELLING?

Any individual residing in British Columbia over the age of 18.

WHERE IS OLIVIA’S OFFICE?

My office address is #505 - 1750 East 10th Avenue - it's a big concrete medical building across from the Commercial-Broadway skytrain station and Safeway. There is a parking lot right beside it, and parking is about $3.50 for an hour, payable by app or a building inside the lobby.

I am in unit 505 - you will come up the elevator, and the office is to the right, with "Tricia Teeft" on the door.  You'll enter and there is a small waiting room. There is tea and some snacks in the waiting room. The upstairs washroom is gendered (501# for mens; 502# for womens), but there is a multigender accessible washroom on the first floor (the code is 9541), no key needed.
